KEY DETAILS

DESCRIPTION

Email therapy offers a flexible, reflective way to engage with therapy through written exchange. Instead of live conversations, you can write about what's on your mind at your own pace, whenever it works for you and send it back within an agreed deadline.  I will respond two days from that deadline. This mode can be a good fit if you prefer to express yourself in writing or you like having time to process between messages. It can also work well if you feel more comfortable opening up without the pressure of real-time interaction. If writing feels like a natural way for you to explore your thoughts and emotions then this mode may suit you best.

READY TO BOOK?

DISCOVERY SESSION

Before beginning therapy, we’ll start with an initial discovery session which can take place by telephone, video call or through email. Telephone and video call sessions will last 30 mins.

This session gives us the chance to see if we’re a good fit. You’ll be able to share what you hope to gain from therapy, ask any questions you might have, and have time to consider whether you’d like to proceed. There’s no obligation or commitment at this stage.

THERAPY SESSIONS

If you’ve had in person or online therapy before you may find this way of interacting quite different.  If you prefer writing rather than speaking to someone, this could be for you.  It has helped many, many people and it can be an incredibly rewarding experience.  Although at times like all therapy, it can be challenging.

ENDINGS

You are welcome to work with me for as long as you need, and we will mutually agree when to end our agreement.  Two weeks’ notice  allows us to review progress and to think about what support you may need going forward.

How Email Therapy Works

What is the difference between a discovery email and a therapy email?
What should I write about?
When do I write my emails?
When do I send my emails?
When should I read my therapist's response?
What type of responses should I expect?
How do we coordinate non-session details?
